FIRST LEGO League Regional Championship

The FIRST LEGO League Regional Championship is an exciting, high-level event where top teams from across Central and West Florida come together to celebrate their accomplishments and compete for a place at the State Championship. A total of 84 teams from the region will participate across two Regional Championships: one hosted in Hillsborough County and one in Volusia County.
Here’s what it means for teams advancing to a Regional Championship:
Purpose
- It serves as the next competitive step for teams that excelled at their qualifying events.
- The championship identifies the top-performing teams who will advance to the FIRST LEGO League State Championship in Pinellas County.
- The event highlights excellence in robot design, programming, teamwork, and the Innovation Project.
What Happens at a Regional Championship
- Robot Game Competition: Teams compete on official challenge fields, demonstrating strategy, reliability, and execution.
- Judging Sessions: Judges evaluate teams in three major categories—Innovation Project, Robot Design, and Core Values.
- Awards & Advancement: Teams are recognized for outstanding performance across multiple award areas. A total of 22 teams from both Regional Championships combined will advance to the State Championship in Pinellas County.
